About

Treadit Gardens aims at building and giving information on “collective gardens” which replicate a forest floor.

What is a “collective garden”?

“Collective gardens” refers to collecting the processes and attributes of in this case a forest floor and keeping them in a garden. We do this by layering a garden and using no-dig methods.

What is different?

This way of gardening focuses on the input into plants that we do not see in the mere size or colour of the plant. There are minerals and nutrients in our lives which we may rarely eat however are vital to our health and growth. If the plantlife has a garden that not only contains these minerals and nutrients but can also absorb them due to microbiology then our bodies also can absorb and benefit from these things.

A real value!

Treadit Gardens was started to help people enjoy their gardens and grow abundant healthy plants. We need a garden to be a natural human habitation that invites us to an outdoor space. Young and old even with little gardening experience should be able to grow healthy plants without the struggle. The Treadit method works by encouraging natural, uninterupted growing processes by protecting them. So we can become the manager in our garden rather than the laborer by creating a space for nature to work.

Treadit gardening was influenced mainly by the ‘back to eden’ gardening method (see *history*). It encorporates ideals such as enjoying the garden, light work and abundantly healthy plants in a gardening method.

As we move further away from nature we experience serious negative affects in varying ways wether it would be to do with consuming lacking or chemical infused produce or finding our main living habitat is stagnant within walls. Making a small change by having a garden that is nature infused and spending some time in that garden has direct consequences to our lifestyles.

I believe this method is an the answer in changing people’s overall health and having a nature element to revolve our daily workings around making it not just a garden but a human habitat.

I have developed this way of gardening in the U.K. and focused specially on the setup of the garden as it is a longterm garden. I hope to do something special with this gardening method and find a way to bring it’s benefits to be known.
